they say Nashville is a ten year town
Nashville is a ten year town
you gotta keep up your hope
you can't let it get you down
they call it a town of dreamers
of con men and of schemers
a million guitar pickers
and chicken finger lickers
I came into town on a Greyhound bus
I was at the end there was no more "us"
she wouldn't even answer the telephone
now I gotta spend Christmas all alone
a town full of dreamers
a city full of dreams
but sometimes dreams are all
you're gonna get it seems
but I'm stuck in a ten year town
here for good in a ten year town
cause when you're numbers up
aint no where to go but up
