there's something going on
going on out my window
something trying to explain
I can almost understand it
I can almost comprehend it
if I really really try
something trying to explain
I guess it must be the rain
little girl blue
little girl blue
don't you cry
don't you cry
little girl blue
little girl blue
why?
it's dark out there
so very very dark
so dark out there
like something bad in my heart
aint no one going out
aint no one coming back
the night's so wet and cold
and so very very black
but it's what we choose
yes it's what we choose
just sit round in a circle
and singing all the blues
we try to be safe
we try to be sane
in the end there's nothing left
but the sound of the rain
but I know that someday
the rain is gonna stop
someday someday someday
sun gonna come over the top
but until that day arrives
I have to sing this song
it may be short or long
it may be right or wrong
I may not know what for
but as long as I can sing
the rain won't hurt no more
no more no more no more
there's something going on
going on out my window
something trying to explain
I can almost understand it
I can almost comprehend it
if I really really try
something trying to explain
I guess it must be the rain
little girl blue
little girl blue
don't you cry
don't you cry
little girl blue
little girl blue
why?

Reviews of "LITTLE GIRL BLUE song lyrics by Joel Sattler"
When I first started to read I thought of Janis's Cry Baby and then I read to the end and saw your note. There hasn't been a bluer singer since. Glad I got to see her on the outdoor stage at San Jose's People's Park once. Unfortunately, she was carrying that bottle of her comfort, Southern Comfort, and promoting the magic pills that were being distributed among the audience… Later sending several to the hospital.
My own, Ode to Janis, poem is on these pages and my website.
