THE RAVEN AND THE CROWS
song lyrics by Joel Sattler
the crow said go!
the raven said no!
the crow got all his friends
swept down and said again
go go go go go!
no no no no no!
the crows were too small
to scare him at all
the raven he laughed
as if they were daft
the crows were irate
and shouted with hate
go go go go go!
no no no!
so it was a standoff
the crows could do nothing
the raven stood solid
as if he were stuffing
and that was enough
to start a paroxysm
but the raven didn't or just wouldn't listen
his dead eye glistened
black as a prison
and just as cold
old on old as old is old
so when the raven is sitting up on your roof
don't ask about love don't ask him for proof
don't ask for anything just let him sit
cause you don't want to know the answer to it
no no no no
no no no
you don't want to know
you don't want to know

Reviews of "THE RAVEN AND THE CROWS song lyrics by Joel Sattler"
The return of the Raven. And, I learned a new word, I think, "paroxysm." There's a deeper meaning in your song, like maybe, defying death, but I'm having a little trouble discerning that for sure.
I've often pondered blackbirds. I've seen flocks of them with varying sizes from very small blackbirds to very large ones. The raven, of course, is the largest if you discount black vultures and eagles. By their very color, they all wear black hats.
