They all say that distance makes the heart grow fonder (clich�) but psychologists have proven that one in the hand is better than two in the bush (clich�). Still, your lyric has that lilting quality and simple words that can be manipulated or drawn out, repeated, in an emotional way that good arrangers and artists do.
