YOU GOTTA PAY BLUES lyrics
by JOEL SATTLER

you got to pay
each and every day
you gotta pay
did you think it was free
it wasn't to be
why can’t you see
you gotta pay.

You gotta run
you gotta run
it may not be any fun
but you gotta run
because that's the way it's done
You gotta run

Please baby please
baby baby please
you know what I want
you know what I need
I know you believe
when you choose to deceive
baby baby please

do what you can with what you got
it may be a little it may be a lot
it aint the size of the ship
but the motion of the ocean
you know what I want if you got the notion

they say the blues are what you choose
when you aint got nothin' else
you gotta sing with your heart
you gotta sing it yourself
the blues is the thing
when there's nothing left to sing
if i was a bell I would ring

I really like these lyrics. They are down to earth and bluesy. But I'm wondering what the size of the ship has to do with the end of the trip? One-size-fits-all doesn't apply? My, my!
