I Shall Weep No More

by Carmen Ruggero

God! Yes, you! And well you know who you are.
You omnipotent one, almighty light!
And I? Sorry fleck you gaze on from far
as I stumble and fall in hapless fight.

What must I be, for you to hear my prayer?
Should I be wind and thrust a hardy blow?
Or sound loud like a beast who guards her lair?
Or verse or rhyme within a song of woe?

Don't turn away. Don't You deny me, God!
I'm not a drifter who will beg for feed.
No! I command you, “Look my way and nod.”
I need your sign to soothe my spirit’s need.

I am a wild flame and I fume and blare!
but will not kneel in humble, lowly prayer.

Splendid, Carmen, passionate and desperate...and yet we get humbled.
I sure can relate.

"Haec credam a deo pio, a deo justo, a deo scito?" [Translation: "Am I to believe these things from a righteous god, a just god, a wise god?"]

For sure. For real. "What must I be, for you to hear my prayer?"

Absolutely.

The Truth in this one is a stunner. Go, Carmen, Go!

This brings out an interesting fact. . . even the prophets of the Bible questioned God. Reading this reaffirms for me that our sense is not necessarily God's point of view, and since I believe that God didn't create us to do us any favors, sometimes as a spirit-being wrapped in flesh and surrounded by people who claim to have all the answers, that maybe I need to, like exercise, sweat it out and feel uncomfortable to get the results that I know will do me good.

Thanks for this reflection Sis, there is a lot of motion in the commotion, and for me, it pushes me forward. Consider this "saved."

blessin's, and we'll get together at Blue Bottle before the month is out, making certain of it.

I? A sorry fleck you watch from afar,
dawdling through life; I think, for your delight.

Powerfully penned, Carmen, and thoughts many can relate to.
