Pardon me for falling failing at what most pipo peepo people grabhold take by for granted look see, English is my number two second language Español, Française et Italiano, fine, I grew up with the sounds. But I am confused a lot by fonics. Phonics? Why is F a Ph if they ring sound the same? words like lose, and loose, and loss, and lost, and boost, and bust, and piece, and peace, give me spasms of the mind. And then hole wholeheartedly I try to rhyme, holy macaroni parmigiano! I just invented a new crime! Why does sky rhyme with by, and not night? Could it be my elocution, playing games of allocution? Maybe I’m tone def deaf, or have ears in my wax, but if I cannot get the sounds to jet, how am I ever gonnaright write a son et?
i taught for years... 5 and 6 year olds, was always amazed the kids were able to read at the end of the year.... if fliing sosr ain't a ufo then what is it.... our language is a tad difficult at times

I can only speak a few sentences in Italian
(my heritage language) and converse a bit in
Spanish...but always wished I could be fluent
in the language of my forbears.
You have done a very nice job in depicting the
hangups our English language doles out to us.

Well done Carmen..English is my third language..my first was German..my second..Croatian..my fourth?..heheh we'll see....probably American English...LOL!!! Sorry ...I use Oxford English..that's the English taught in Australian schools...

Carmen, this was clever and creative...reminds me of many of my roughs done with pen and pad late at night...by the way, I am always in awe of anyone who speaks and writes more than one language...it has never been an ability of mine.

Anyone who can master English, has done superb, as it is difficult, and all English speaking nations use a different vernacular, you've made the point extreamly well here, I tried telling an itailian that they had won one, was it one one no you won one:)) Well done..
Excellent. I love the humor you have built into this poem. It is very creative. I am assistant principal of an ESOL (English as a second language) school in Jacksonville, Florida. I deal with language issues daily.

I was 27 before i made any sense at all of spelling
that was only because of studying the history of the language
i still can not spell but a least i know why!
