Remember, O,poet that dust thou art andd to dust shall you return

in the spirit of November 2

Poet, on your way rejoicing,
reveling in the freedom
of the human spirit:
Hear Me.

Poets borne aloft,
by the wings of that good spirit
that gives soul and breath
to all creatures of the clay,
remember the grave.

Singers of that one song
remember that you did not
make the starry sky nor
craft the nascent rose.
You only sing the bright star field
and chant the bud
into the glorious flower.

Servant Singes recall your place
and know that like
the star and the rose
of the earth are you made.
Then raise your voice,
Love and Life to hymn …
