another written in the dark
on Thursday

Soft the new day rising
from the bosom of the night
softer, still, my loves rising
from the reverie of my heart

Gone the night’s warm caress
gone my lover’s immediacy
come, now, the bitter reality
of the light of clear cold day.

John this was a nice little wrote in the dark write. Reminds me of my teenage years. I lost girlfriends like cars burn in gas, then came the lonely scars, and the jars. Jars of white lightening, then I ended up being drunk and frigtening. Can a man ever win? I finally won when I married my wife. but one day I poured out her jar of white lightening that her father gave her and I guess you know, your poem was a go. But I patched up and because I quit drinking, I just leave my wife alone. I threw that grain alcohol out because it kept calling me. I haven't had a drink in fifteen years and don't really want one. So I throw the stuff out and I almost get kicked out. G
