My mind, mundane laden drifts alone
To a place darkened, distant, unknown.
Incense smoke taunts, twirls and spins
Till no longer can I tell where dreams begin.
Lucid languor holds me captive,
Chants and drums match my pulse.
Ancient worlds in the distance
Nurture my pagan drenched hopes.
So no soul follows me here
Surreal and stark this world can be
For simple, sordid fear of madness mutiny.
