Bitter Irony

I taste it in the air Bitter irony medium rare Everything racing by Is it me ? Am I standing still Or a cloud in the sky Or worse…in reverse? Goddess release from this curse Self imprisonment I build the bars Yet beg for the key This just isn’t me Caution to the wind I don’t bend Insurmountable hill? I fill the bill Getting in my own way This game I won’t play I taste it in the air Bitter irony medium rare Skid row is a day pass Next to one’s own self-wrath Pain is physical Thought is mental Will is spiritual Go it alone Is there any other way? Not today I’m out of this hand I’ve something better planned. Oakling April 14, 2003
