Ravaged by the winter’s freeze
Who’d believe?
The mind has seasons
Yes, my mind goes through the fall
And winter catches me in her cloak of white
Yet spring awakens my mind
With soft warming breezes of light
Summer wears me thin
My mind gives in
And retreats… till
Again it engages the fall
Where it is released from the sun’s crawl
Across parched landscapes and
Mirage like dreams
When will fall begin?
Where the colors will wash away the dust
And give my mind thrust
Into the world of senses
Drop all pretenses
Lavish in the cooling days
Feel my way through an earth toned maze
Ah, yes the mind hath seasons
How else can it reason
Beyond today.
