~My Soul to Keep . . .

Walked under the same roof for years

Yet are love never really met

Had all the means to make us one

Material bodies, immaterial elements;

How pale was the sly that brought forth the pain

My soul, always uneasy, confined by heavy chains

Could now no longer sin, yet all your sins did bear

As the changing of your moods ill-prepared me time and time again;

I now walk through a river of emotions

Carrying my soul, now lost, to where all the brokenhearted go

Walking naked, undefended, amidst love nonexistent

Searching for a place where souls don’t turn to ash;

One’s soul lays continually in their hands

Slowly dying, quickly becoming a skeleton – non-empathized

Traveling from one scared emotion to another – as the blind wayfarer does

Unaware, looking through socket-less eyes that no longer care;

Now searching for a new purpose in life

Dusting off my countenance – portrait left from anguish insteeped

Too once again be enthusiastic, rid the decomposition of virtue turned vice

I must enclose the quiet servant in my body – my soul to keep . . .

A terrific duo write and as Dave has said, we shall never forget the past, nor should we dwell on it.

Wow Tinka! This is AMAZING! You have definitely captured the emotion of hopelessness in this beautiful write. Soldier on Dear, things will get soooo much better....better than you had ever dreamed they would become.

Now searching for a new purpose in life

This is quite a gripping poetic collaboration, both words and music - and very often in life we must search for that new purpose, but when we do find it, the world truly does change for the better.

There comes a time when we need to decide that we must go forward no matter how painful it seems. It is the only way to find freedom and the only chance we have at every finding love. Strength is sometimes difficult to muster, but combine what you have with a bit of faith and you can move mountains and secure your pathway to brighter days. You are the Queen of the sad writes, Tinka, nobody can do them like you do.
Take care,
Sherry

Sometimes we need to move on. And not look behind.
But a bold step to take....
