Poem Artwork

~Softly~

Conspicuous dominance

Virtue of simplicity

Duplicate to disambiguate

Mimicry a passion;

Relationships a tedious decadence

Communication unimaginative

Shallow faults detesting life

Being loved sometimes thoroughly;

Serviceable substitute called temptation

Ridicule mediocrities

I will wait for you all my life

A final mystery is my concession;

Moralize under all conditions

Become a dreamer by deceiving

Being normal a dead religion

Sincerity in a vile called poison;

Remaining friends an overestimated ability

Simplicity illusions pleasure

Work it out filed under Legal Separation

Immense inferiority someone else’s opinion.

Being normal a dead religion

What a powerful poetic statement you two have made. Extremely sad, but extremely well done.

Tinka,

There are dark currents of rage and overwhelming sadness, a numbness, perhaps? in your powerfully expressed words. I pray for you, my (((friend))).

A lot of big words here Tinka but even I could understand what you were trying and did accomplish to say, your heart is in limbo but someday it will be free to fly the restraints of civil law and enjoy the freedom of love.

A thoroughly different write for you, Tinka, and explained perhaps in the penultimate line - as legal jargon or journalees (sp??). I can identify with this at the moment as any sort of legal document where issues of the heart are involved leaves me brain and feeling-dead. I am going through stuff with my Mother - and with her so ill and possibly dying, it is something I could do without... sorry, that's another issue, but can totally relate to the dead-pan feel here. Beyond belief when these things strike. Bless you and may the numbness pass. LOL Kate xx

Great Collaboration! Perfect example of seamless writing. An excellent composition where the meaning rests on what's not being said. Powerful piece.

This might possibly be up there with one of your best efforts, Tinka, so much said, so few words...read between the lines is the way to see this poem so fine...Ed
