Passion’s Dream

Very few people

Are able to live their passion

So…I never forget where I come from

As I try to do what I have to do’

I had to work really hard

To be where I am today

Maybe I had to work even harder

Harder than most

Being in a position of privilege

Does not mean it’s all a bed of roses

Ever so often I have turned around

Just to find another thorn

Sticking into my flesh

And beneath the veneer

Of a very brave smile

Beats a very fragile human heart

And true emotions

And fear shines through

Specially when touched by a deeper love

Showing my appreciation

Even through the struggles of life

That brings tears way too often

No matter how hard I sometimes try

To block those tears out

Out of fear…the ultimate sadness

When those bright stars in my eyes

Are snatched away

And in a sleep state…

When I lack judgement

And as a result

Experience what ever I want to

In a dream

When my own personal needs

They say motivations generates our dreams

So the images I see within my dreams

Reflects the state of my mind

And you my living passion

Yes Tink, those thorns are very painful too. I am hoping with the new turn in my life that passion is now coming my way...I hope. Merry Christmas Tink, and a very happy New Year too.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, jou to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Ah those thorn's sticking in our flesh - actually in my case they are usually Teri's toast crumbs because she brings her breakfast to bed and makes comments as I exercise movement back into protesing muscles (its a big job every morning because they try to revert to rigor mortis mode while I sleep)
I liked the poem and the insight it gives into what makes Tink tick ;-)

I have always tried to smile~ For when we smile, the world smiles with us...but deeper down, on the inside, there have been times when I know I was hiding behind my outward appearances...looking back at it...I am glad I continued to smile, even though... It's like you say here..."And beneath the veneer Of a very brave smile Beats a very fragile human heart..."
A penning from within guided by the One above~
Your words are touching Tinka~ and they are also self-healing...
Love and Peace~

I like this more journalistic, "Dear Dairy", style of writing from you, Tinka. A kind of aide memoire, so that, in years to come, you can look back and SMILE!! You did and are doin it YOUR way, Darlin, and Grace and Fortitude are your middle names. Valour, your name is Woman! Great write and testimony to send you onward and upward into 2007 with fresh energy in your step and love in your heart. Bless you, Kate xx

And beneath the veneer
Of a very brave smile
Beats a very fragile human heart

A testimony to self-awareness at its most keenly observable state.
Brought to mind a line from the Beatles' song, 'Although I act and laugh like a clown, beneath this mask I am wearing a frown.'

Insightful and honest.

penned straight from the heart...beautiful Tinka, I too often times have a smile that hides many other emotions housed within my heart and mind. I have always thought that I must be the strong one, that I cannot allow others to see my pain...I relate with this write, touched me deeply.
Blessings and happy holidays,

You have deep rivers of emotion and expression. You are one of the very few here that opens her heart honestly and shares the ups and downs of our fragile lives openly and without fear.

A soft and tender sentiment in this lovely honest write. Brava from big bro!
