I have never known such heartbreak,
nor ever cried so many tears...
I cannot understand what has happened,
nor can I see the purpose of all these years.

For so long you walked along with me,
sat on the edge of my world in the sun -
I had no idea that the world around you
had fallen apart and come so undone.

I never knew your sorrow, dear friend,
and I never shared your pain,
I tried to help but you could not see,
you only acknowledged the rain.

Each time I venture into my heart’s room,
to look at old memories and love I have stored,
I come upon such a broken heart...
Lying in pieces all over the floor.

These tears, they seem to keep falling,
this oceans still ebbs ‘pon your shore...
And I pray that one day you’ll be ready to share,
to feel light shine from your wide open door.
