There's always a dance left in life.
Susan

Poem Artwork

The ballroom is empty yet life abounds
The energy quickens... with nary a sound
The candle flame flickers...not even a breeze
Then out from the shadows a gentleman's sleeve
With one digit he gestures...barely a twitch
My knees are weakened as my palms start to itch
Barely a whiff of exotic spices
Lifted my nostrils as heaven enticed me
With hovered ambition I drifted across
He lifted my spirits and my heart was lost
Magnificent dancer
Spirited Muse
Lover of mystery
Passions turned loose
Holding me closer
Exchanging a breath
Opening a heart to see what was left
Resillient as magic with scars all tucked
He climbed on in and zipped himself shut
He's there where I find him when I'm alone
I hum in a whisper ...he's coming home
When the ballroom is empty and nothing much matters
He floats out of nowhere and drifts from the shadows
This man of mystery... whoever he is
I know he's mine and he knows that I'm his.

You are so peceptive, and you have such a talent to express it in words, not only do they express your feeling, Your words actually color it and fill in the spaces of doubt within it with understanding. This is so great! I love it. This is one of my very favorites of yours. Love, Pierre

This is one of those poems where you can just read and read...and read it some more...the mystical and the views of muse combined, hold one within a moment of reflections, pondering, and just all around great mood...

Romance and mystery make for such a splendid night - dancing in the ballroom until the sun shines through. Awesome poem, filled with a nostalgic feel.
