Beach Time Christmas

I've seen it all since moving here
Tropical weather with flesh all bare
Shopping for Christmas along the beach
Something new for this Georgia peach
Passing along people in barely a dare
Some with straps in thong underwear
Little or nothing to my imagination
Embarrassing nudity gets frustrating
Then over the beach caught by a sunset
A flock of Flamingoes with a fat man yet
He was dressed in Tommy Bahama tropics
His feet were flip flopped with phosphorous rockets
His belly was bare all underneath
He sounded like Bob Marley... a Jamaican beat
He was doing his "thang" with Flamingo flare
His surfboarded sled was huge...I swear
He smelled like Hawaiian Tropic lotion
He dared every white cap out on the ocean
He swooped down and landed beyond the reef
And he pulled out his Boze for some caroling treat
Then up from his decorated bag of sweet treats
Sprang Jimmy Buffet with his band complete
They played all the favorites from many years past
Then Marguritaville came strong but wasn't his last
Just when the crowd collected together
Came a huge clap of inclimate weather
I swear fore I knew it the clouds opened wide
Then in came Three Wiseman in a huge doublewide
Lights all glaring with camels in baggies
A jockey with frankensense and even a caddy
Coming to the islands to take in the season
Celebrating Christmas with giving the reason
Fireworks came next with sparklers spraying
Then peace and quiet as all knelt in praying
It's Christmas no matter the place or the thing'
We're celebrating a birthday
It's Christ's day...our King
Merry Christmas ye tanned one
Everywhere every place
It's all about honoring the God of all Grace!

The image is like a new take on Gullivers travels - Santa with his doting lilliputians. That Jimmy Buffet has been around for so long hasn't he Belle? Blessings ... Richard

Sounds like my kinda Christmas... funny, though... I most love my Dorset beach in the winter months when it's padded ski jacket and wellies weather. Wherever, the God of All Grace is to be found newborn amongst swimsuits and snowsuits, barbies and turkey roasts. And ESPECIALLY, out there on our streets or deserts, wherever they may be... A nice take, Susan. Kate xx

It truly is, and I love that graphic! But I spent one Christmas on a warm sunny tropical beach, and I couldn't stand it - this northern boy needs his cold and snow on Christmas.

Susan,

Delightful! Even Santa needs beach time. :) Well done.

Everyone has there own way of celebrating. . .
As long as it's for the RIGHT reason.
Sounds like a change of scenery a little different than you're used to.
Enjoyed reading (got a few laughs)
I am an old St. Pete Beach boy and could relate.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a Happy Holiday.

You know Santa has really semi-retired and only goes to the north pole for one or two days a year.

You must have come to Texas; it's more like beach weather than winter here! (Hate it; from the North, miss the cold/snow!) But what can I do? Gotta' make the best out of a (bad) situation! Doesn't mean I don't have to like it, though; still, enjoyed this write! Very well penned, Susan!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)

As long as we remember Christ's birth, then I'm all for Christmas! :) THAT's why we celebrate it in the first place!
