The older man was feeling very reflective
He thought back to when he was seven years old
The young boy was alone in the yard behind his home
His dog Spotty was missing for twenty four hours
Sadness engulfed the young boy
He sang to himself, someday I'll find you someday
There was no such song but the boy made up the words
This was an early calling for the remainder of his life
Rejection, the loss of something or one forever
The rejection he still felt because his parents had released Spotty to the wild
The boy grew into manhood after serving in the military
The young man was always conscience of rejection
He never truly had anyone love him
He was a loser, a loser of faith, a loser of hope
Many years have come and passed
The man had two children both the pleasure of his eyes
His daughter would eventually get married and move to Holland
His son who himself had endured much pain stayed behind with his Father
But the loneliness continued for the older man
He found that he had a little talent for the arts
He began to write poetry
Here he found a beautiful writer
He had fallen in love with her
But how
After all, he still sings "someday I'll find You someday" for Spotty
There are some experience in our childhood that we will never forget. The memories shaped how we see and feel about life in general. Some memories are good memories, unfortunately the bad ones would always stay too, and no matter where we are in life, the strong bad ones are always edged into our minds; especially the ones that we seek answers from.
Tony, this is something deeply meaningful and moving. You write about a reality that for many of us maybe sad but in truth a rich experience that strengthen our hearts and prepare us for a more challenging and meaningful life. Peace and love in Christ.
