This poem is part of a chapter for a novel I have been working on for the last 10 months.

The song "I'll never forget you" rained triumph fully in my brain
It sometimes does that to me

My brain cells must be playing tricks on me again

Out of space a song comes to me that I must write about

I was walking east on thirty ninth streets with half a cigar still smoking

There was a "Blarney Stone" a few feet away so I entered the bar

The bar 's customers were mostly blue collar, which was good for me because I did not feel like screwing around with anyone

There were two broads sitting in the middle with San Carlos uniforms on

I figured they were maids or housekeepers

The chick sitting on the outside of us said some thing in the closer chicks ear, and she turned around looked at me and chuckled

Now I do not know what was funny but I know it was an attention getter

I turned faced straight ahead and continued to smoke and drink

Eventually although I was expecting it the near chick said to me excuse me sir do you have the time

She said that with a lilting Irish brogue

To Be Continued
