This is the 5th in a series of Fractured Fables I've been writing about old nursery rhymes.

FRACTURED FABLES #5 - LITTLE MS. MUFFIT

I was sitting alone

enjoying a freshly rolled bone

on a bench in the shade of the steeple.

When Miss Molly Muffet

asked permission to puffit

I said, “Not now, there are too many people.”

Now you’ve got yer Muffit’s

and then there’s yer Tuffits

and of course, there’s yer curds and whey,

but when Ms. Molly  Muffit

asks permission to puffit

you’d best get the Hell out of my way.

Well, it’s a tangled web

between the flow and the ebb

but she was driving a brand new Spider.

So when Ms. Molly Muffit

said she’d like to puffit,

I jumped up and crawled in beside her.

OBTW, that ride in her Spider

sitting right there beside her

really worked out well for me.

To Ms. Molly’s benevolence

there is no equivalence,

an to her request I wholeheartedly agreed.

When Miss Molly Muffet

asked permission to puffit

I said, to hell with the rest of the people.”

Now I’m no longer alone

We’re making good use of my bone

on the bench at the back of the steeple.

I gather she wasn't puffing on a toke and hope she didn't throw a dog your bone.

Reminds me of a hip song that my girlfriend had about 1989 that use this nursery rhyme and others… “Everybody dance now!”

May I join you & Miss Molly,
The more the merrier,
The more we have,
The more we will all feel jolly...

Suffice it to say that I LOVE this one...e
