Fractured Fables #6 - Humpty Never Took the Fall

This is the 6th in a series of Fractured Fables I have recently written about old nursery rhymes.

 

 
FRACTURED FABLE # 6 – HUMPTY NEVER TOOK THE FALL
 
Humpty Dumpty was innocent
as he sat there on that wall
but the King was in need of someone
he could convince to take the fall.
 
Humpty wasn’t the smartest
of the Dumpty’s one and all.
Some figured he was scrambled,
but I’d never make that call.
 
Others figured one day he’d hatch,
turn from an egg into a chick
but if that should ever happen
it would spoil the Kings men’s trick.
 
As he sat there on that wall,
all the Kings men gathered round,
but the sound of Humpty farting
seemed to be the only sound.
 
Humpty took a dump
as he sat there straddling that wall,
as the King’s men put it back together,
Humpty got the last laugh after all.
 
POSTSCRIPT:  Coincidentally,,,,,, it is said, “The phrase “CHICKENSHIT,” though more accurately it would be “EGGSHIT,” descends from that very incident.”
