FRACTURED FABLES # 7 – THE OLD LADY IN THE SHOE
There was an old lady
who lived in a shoe
she had so many children
she didn’t know what to do
She signed up for welfare,
signed all the children up too,
now she owns half of Manhattan
and nearly all the Bronx zoo.
Turns out kids are a cash crop
like tobacco or cotton,
but you don’t have to pick them
and it don’t matter if they’re rotten.
Just keep pumping them out,
one after the other,
it doesn’t really matter
if it’s a sister or brother.
When her daughters turned 15
she would tell them how it works,
then they’d each get a boyfriend
and begin enjoying the perks.
There are now 4 generations
all in that same shoe,
all expecting welfare
to pay for whatever they do.
With so many kids, she’s hiring,
but if your looking for a job,
might better sign up for welfare,
it’s the most legal way to rob.
(Unless you can get yourself elected to congress)
