Some people jump right into one thing, then into another without really thinking. It took me years to get married. But I jumped into my relationship with my wife, the same woman I'm married too. Man it was a mess for along time but for years we've been happily married. What I learned in the relationship helped me make it in my marriage. Most important was, my wife is never going to change. Since I went on and married her, I changed the person that was as hard as her to change, me, man did it take some doing.

Bought a new car,
jumped into it.
5.7 liter Dodge Hemi Durango,
gas guzzler.
Needed a new car to make dad's funeral.
Quick was the trick.
Right afterwards,
gas went to almost $4.00 a gallon,
I feel trapped worst than a felon.

Now I'm stuck,
but I still have my four cylinder truck,
what luck.
My wife drives the Durango,
each stop in the gas station,
we do the tango.
I end up paying.

I love the Durango,
but I hate during the tango.
It was a big jump,
now I've got to make it over the hump.
New car payments rip,
can't hardly afford to go on a trip.

Worst jump was into hell,
hung with the devil a spell.
For a long time,
I kept a big chip on my shoulder,
let it go when I got older.

Jumped clean the freak out hell,
for years I've been doing well.
Jumped into love and understanding,
it makes life less demanding.
I finally understood,
I'd jump a fool good.
Finally figured this type jumping wasn't wise,
so I made a compromise.

You might win the fight,
but it still isn't right.
Back off these crazy fools,
use Jesus's tools.
The best self defense,
is no unnecessary offense.
Loving isn't always hugging,
unless you hugging yourself.

Jumped into poeming,
didn't know what I was doing,
quite a few started booing.
Jumped into writing,
then came the fighting.
But I've hung in,
made writing my friend.
With very little dividend.

My next jump,
will be out of the grave,
as long as I can save.
Each wise move made,
is a price I've paid,
to extend getting laid,
