Here in Baltimore people are being shot down everyday, this time a shootout dawned my neighborhood.
Five loud bangs
worst kind of things
I was sitting on
the sofa sleep
Pray to the Lord
my life I'll keep
Thought it was
a knock on the door
Come to find out
it was gun shots four
then add one more
Neighborhoods great
still it would be better
in a safer state
Police found car
windows shot out
After the shootout
Bullet holes in some of
the neighbors windows
Just another night
home on the range
Some day I hope
things change
I am working on a short story on the very subject of violence, so I believe the Lord brought me here to your poems tonight, I am also going to spend some time playing catch up, you have so many poems I have yet to read, thank you for sharing them here.
