at times we'd be better off hunting for the devil himself who would end up probably being a better friend. At least we'd know up front as opposed to getting back stabbed all the time.
I use to hunt for
a few dear friends
but this hunt ends
and also depends
on other love that transcends
Friends can't be trusted
not even dear friends
so not by choice
my hunt ends
I can be miserable
by my lonesome
Glad I'm somewhat
of a loner
Makes ending my
hunt easier
The heck with
trying to be a pleaser
After all the years
friends even in the family
only cause pain and tears
and ultimate other fears
Dear hunting season ends
so do the foolish
trying to patchup and mends

I too hope you never right me off as many others have....I write for me....if others like my writing I'm thrilled because I've helped some one, but as for measuring up to all the bs & crap and so called friends that have left me for whatever reason...well, good friends are hard to find and most likely not included in the immediate family. love Holly
Well I hope you don't write me off Grady, my friendship for you is real always. Unfortunately true friends are hard to find most of the time. A thought provoking write.
