I have lived in a life of shadows..
I have walked through
darkness as black as space..
Learned to survive alone..
I have turned my back..
On light it seems..
Not trusting what I see..
Light offers illusions..
Darkness offers dreams..
I swim in shallow water..
but find this far to deep.
I see
Anger in society..
I see
Children who cannot speak..
I see..
The youth have become actors.
 They even dress the part..
they call it individuality..
but I wonder..
If they to
are in this dark..
I see life..
but there is no living..
Hopelessness..
in the eyes of the elderly..
Loneliness
Desperation..
In the eyes of  children.
Trying to find where they belongs..
In a world ..
that everyone must act..
Walking these same thin lines..
Pondering all the same questions..
Thinking life is not worth the time..
But waiting for that hope...
Waiting for that one sign..
To show they belong..
Just enough..
To pull them along..
one more day...
Life passes so quickly..
Fear gets in your way..
Must reach for life ...
Within yourself be free...
Just let your spirit lead you..
to where you should be.
