For the first time in Fourteen years, Benadir Hospital was re-opened. The first baby-girl was born right after the hospital functions commenced. The girl was named HINNA. HINNA is a women activist group who are pioneers of peace and life in Somalia.
In this poem, Benadir Hospital expresses its gratitude to HINNA Women organization for their efforts to make it work again. It also appeals the world to help the the hospital through HINNA organization. Dear brothe/sister, a woman is bleeding to death somewhere in Sosmalia as you read this poem. So you can understand how much important your contribution is to the hospital and to the welfare of the patient.

I am Benadir Hospital in Mogadishu
I witnessed pain in the hands of war
Out of shape and functionless I was
HINNA women group came to my rescue
They raised funds and rehabilitated me
They put me back into life and action
Everybody surprised with their vigor
Nobody believed they would make it
But They relied on God, the merciful
I, the hospital, was re-opened today
An expectant mother visited me soon
doctors took good care of the patient
Their blessed hands worked diligently
The flame of hope started to burn
Delight and pleasure filled my heart
I heard a squall from within myself
Strange a noise it was to my ears
I only knew the sound of wasted souls
Taking their last breath in dark slums
But today the story was different
A new life was born inside my body
Out of joy and fervour, I cried
So was everybody in the delievry room
An old nurse picked an empty brown cup
She harvested water from weeping eyes
The baby was showered with tears of elation
HINNA has become the baby's chosen name
We love HINNA. Everybody loves HINNA
