Time and space are teaching me a lesson.... a lesson so complex that I cannot articulate exactly the way it is built in my mind. I sometimes think of "speed" not only on travel matters of covering a certain distance but figure it out in some other unique ways. I believe "Speed" is applicable to the use of the internet which allows you to communicate and interact with people around the world as if you are covering a long distance within no time. I wonder if technology has taken us to space while physically present on earth.
Two hours of walking drain my energy
Exhaustion greets me at the doorstep
I fall on the bed to have a little rest
I cannot read nor work on my garden
But if cycle I can cut that by half
With a bus I can make it with 10 min
Speed is certainly changing my life
But do I know how it is affecting me
Am I aging faster than I can imagine
Or I am obsessed with my appearance?
Is my genetic clock ticking slower
Or I am drowning in a sea of illusion?
Is the world shrinking to be a village
Or is it expanding to become a universe?
Quite a mind bending poem this morning. I always tell my children, do not wish your life away. When anyone says, I can't wait till next week, or I will see you in a few weeks, you are wishing time away, we all need to "Live in the moment" savor each breath we take and really "see" our world.
Quite profound. Speed seems to rule the day now, but old Father Time still does what he does. Perhaps all our 'fast' technology truly is a modern day illusion.
