It was 14 years ago when her grandmother Brenda first came to work for me. Then 13 years ago Ryleigh’s mother, Billie came to work for me part time and is now a valuable fulltime employee and friend. Both Brenda and Billie are still with me. At the end of December Billie had her first baby, Ryleigh, pictured above. Being the most demanding boss on earth I insisted that Billie return to work as soon as she was able and that she bring Ryleigh with her. You have no idea how much I love being able to watch Baby Ryleigh grow and interact with her. I love her as I do her mother and grandmother. They are like sister, daughter and granddaughter to me. I feel very fortunate to have three generations of women (okay so one of them is only 3 months old and whose only job is to be loved and smile) working for me.
Every moment is a creation whose fate is in my hands. While there are some things that I cannot control or make go away, I do have the power to chose my reaction. So when life slaps me around and all I want to do is sink into a pit of despair I walk into the office next to mine and pick the baby up. When she looks into my eyes and I look back at her and say hello, she breaks out into a full face of smiles. I’ll smooch her puffy cheeks and we’ll laugh together. There is no better therapy than that which is delivered by a baby whose only job in life is to be loved and love back.

This is very beautiful. Babies have an amazing power over us. I also just wanted to say how very honored I am to not only work for you but most of all to be your friend. I learned many years ago blood does not define a family, it is heart that does that. Thank you for being part of my family.

Ahhh, Sara.. when Adam was little I got tired of the stream of irresponcible teenage baby sitters and took him to work with me at the library.. smartest thing I could have done.. he was showered with cheer and attention a joy to have nearby. I will never forget the generosity and kindness of my employer for allowing/suggesting I do this. You are one helluva boss to carry this on with your own folks. That is one marvelously adorable face up there... and you are one beautifully caring and thoughtful woman for what you do. Squeeze those cheeks one time for me, will ya? LOL. Well done! katy xox.

More bosses like you should allow both babies and pets to be brought to work. The work place would be a much happier place; and happier employees are much more productive.
