and even though he was near
he placed himself far apart
as the minutes turned to hours
the voice droned on
so....husky....and....oh so....low
reverberating....into my dreams
until I learned to reach out to me
alone with that voice
a casual release
and then the hours turned to months
and the months turned to years
and a vow to take care of each other
seemed like the natural thing
in sickness and health we would do
what life said it beckoned us to
only no one qualified just how sick
sickness could get
until one day I beckoned
life....leave me
let it bleed
let it go into a warm
moist release
i like how you developed this poem, Sara ... life's lack of intimacy can provoke us to bleed out our remaining emotion into the warm depths
of darkness and to the relief of its release ...
Sounds like it's time for a spirtual renewel, some peace for fresh perspective.........
