I need to get a microphone
And speak my thoughts to you
Don’t get me wrong I love your emails,
Kisses so sweet and they never make me blue.
But sometimes I just have to tell you
I need more wind to drum up those sails.
It’s not that all this typing is a chore
Hey, it often helps when I’m bored.
I hate the thought that THIS is your choice
To miss what you can’t hear.
‘Cause surely darling you must want to know
The feeling of my voice pressed against your ear.
This is so crazy and so sad
Words on a screen sometimes they make me mad.
Did you hear the tremor of my giggles?
Or the moistness in the sound of grief.
Can you hear my emotions
Even though there is no speak?
I’m sorry but I have to say
It happens most every day.
But you are missing the best sensation
Of my pleasure when I speak.
I’m afraid you can’t hear my voice so sultry
Or simply just so weak.
But for now I’ll keep typing up the words
And hoping that one day
We’re joined in a hypnotic dance
So you and I will find the way
Through our modern day romance.
Very good write, Super Girl. The voice tells more sometimes of the emotion felt but the written word is in eternal form and can sometimes tell much more of what lies beneath the surface.
