Inside a house of glass on the edge of jungles From around the world, we sat on a bench And glanced around the room The birds fluttered playfully Chirping out their melodies Occasionally stopping to nibble on treats of the day We laughed and we talked And as our eyes touched You’d smile at me sweetly with that look of love We talked about the world Inspecting the plants all around us Wishing we could sit there for hours and hours I wanted to touch your hand As it was poised so close to mine Sensing your energy as it radiated around me My heart beat so fast as I wished for your love So I kept holding back my tears From my want, to be with you And on that day when you and I first met I learned so much of you My soft-spoken gentle man Who really was quite the gentleman I never dreamt that one day it would all come to an end That THAT was my one chance At the treasure that was YOU Now that you have left me I am alone and without hope Now that you my love are gone forever All I have are memories to help me cope

And cope you will Sara ... let there be no doubt ... one day soon your heart will shout ... and you will let it all out ... the love in your heart that is ... and someone will be blessed ... for somewhere that someone new is waiting for you. Bill Murray
Beautiful and sad. Sometimes memories are all we have left. Excellent poem, Sara.

But you have to keep the faith in yourself that things work out for the best in the long run. I've seen it happen too many times for it to be just an old saying. You will too.
Join me as we travel together on the road called "Aging." I will be sharing my personal experiences with you and offer ideas on how we can better navigate the complex byways of our older years. Grief, healing, generations, ancestors, and more.
