Whispers of Love

Laying on the bed straining against pain


I hear you whispering under your breath,


“Get out of ME!”


 


Knelling by your side


I run my hand across your soft brow


and whisper into your breath


“Is there anything I can do?”


 


With compassion in my eyes


I helplessly look at you.


With gratitude in your eyes


you bravely look at me


And whisper, “Don’t worry, I’ll be okay.”


 


Our eyes lock in an embrace.


Whispers of love mingle in our breath


and pain exhales.

Hi Sara,
You have been writing good some stuff lately.

You know something, Sara? My need to know exactly what the basic thrust is here didn't seem as important as my huge love for the word weaving through out.. the language and "vision" in it transfixed me. I think it's quite lovely. love, katy xox.

My first thought, someone was having a nightmare, and you consoled them. I guess childbearing makes more sense. Good though!

I also wondered about whether this is a moment of childbirth, at least somehow I've read it that way. If it is, it is a wonderful piece capturing that special moment. Great write indeed!
