Romance,
 filled to the brim
with love and hate.
With serenity and rage.
With accusations and revelations.
With lies and truths.
With kisses and long loving looks.
With hugs and caresses.
With love and more love.

We comforted each other,
and we inflicted pain.

So it was no surprise when he said,
“All I ever wanted was to love you,”
just before he said “good-bye.”
