the veterans …
who fought for our freedom, our flag.
All those of courage … didn’t lag.
Some were wounded and other’s died …
let’s give thanks they were on our side.
Many, heroes, saved other’s hides!

whose sacrifice has it’s own price
besides enduring horrors, vice.
Regardless of age, uniform,
they were ‘in harms way’ in e’er form.
They represent us—me and you—
e’en if their names we never knew!

for the freedoms we all have here.
Thank all veterans loud and clear!
Forget not one who served the free
giving us life and liberty.
They stand, guardians, do ne’er sleep,
our soldiers, shepherds, to us sheep.

be e’er thankful we sleep in peace
and for their sacrifices … weep.
God bless each person, body, soul
whose character keeps nations whole.
Without vets we might not be free
home of the brave with dignity.
