Again, perhaps due to the change of season, I'm thinking of the problems of those who are 'homeless'.
*********************

Forsaken, forgotten
Once somebody’s child
A tramp on the street
Unwashed and unshaven
Walks around on his beat
He wears no shoes . . . just rags on his feet

Forsaken, forgotten
Somebody bore him
Where can his folks be
Are they all in their graves
Or so blind they can’t see
He has no food . . . eats scraps off the street

Forsaken, forgotten
Who cares when he weeps
Does he lay down to sleep
In a box on the streets
Does he accept defeat
He’s just a tramp . . . to those that he meets

Forsaken, forgotten
Now nobody’s child
... just a tramp on the street

needs a bit more closure, imho, but very hauntingly endearing! -- Jeff

I think it is so sad and terrible that we have homeless people, there should be safe and warm places for them to go, where they can get help and food, just breaks my heart, I do think of them also, especially the children and families.

Some families are so dysfunctional that living on the streets is a better reality. I too think about the homeless people a great deal, expecially with being on the edge of becoming one this past year. Most believe our governments have placed saftey nets to prevent this from happening. This is not true. Great write!
