My first Christmas without Dad. *****************

When I last saw Daddy he was ill, shrouded in white. He said to be a good girl . . . to learn to ride my bike. All I want for Christmas is Daddy to come home. I was five when Daddy left but now I'm six, half-grown. I rode, still he left us and I didn't understand. What was this thing--cancer-- that hurts a full grown man? All I want for Christmas is Daddy to come home. I was five when Daddy left but now I'm six, half-grown. Daddy was laid to sleep; Mom would not let me go. Where did they hide my Daddy? Will someone let me know? All I want for Christmas is Daddy to come home. I was five when Daddy left but now I'm six, half-grown. In my dreams Daddy's home-- in his arms ev'rything's swell. So if you see my Daddy send him home for a spell. All I want for Christmas is Daddy to come home. I was five when Daddy left but now I'm six, half-grown. God, please take his cancer it's the only gift I need. You know how much I love him . . . bring him home . . . or please take me. �
