I truly love walking in a light, warm drizzle to regain my perspective.

A light drizzle hid my cascading tears,
flooding my upside down umbrella.
I wanted the world
to see my mis’ry … not having you.
Splashing water leapt around my ankles
and my hair was more wet than newly washed.
Doesn’t everyone
cry in the rain …
sweet tears … in vain?

Discarding my coat, I was drenched, drowning
in a whirlpool overflowing, disgraced.
How could I go on
knowing what I knew
… without you?
My grey umbrella floated away.
I don’t think it rains where I am going.
Tears are still streaming
after all this time …
I am NOT fine!

Down on my knees, I ask the Lord to please
take me home where those I love are dwelling.
He … tenderly … smiles,
“You’ll not go this way
… tears just won’t do.
How can you lose life when you’re not living?
Let love be your umbrella from Me.”

The rain ceased to fall
along with my tears …
because of You!
