The cold weight
of the gun,
-smooth,
clean,
and almost liquid-
presents itself
as if a question,
thrown openly
into the growing darkness.
My soul reaches
towards this source
of instant mercy,
of immediate forgiveness,
as temptation
slowly rapes judgement.
