Seeing My Life

Alone,
surfing the net,
thoughts filling my head
of finding something better,
like hopeful smoke,
making it not so easy to breathe.
And it seems like living
has deen demoted to existence,
and the only affordable price
will only buy you survival.
Hard to think that this is it,
all there is,
no second opinions.
But I seem to remember,
somewhere deep in me,
what it can mean
to be alive and breathing.
So easy in the past,
but hard forever after.
And I need something
to come fill me up,
and take the nothing
out and away from this place.
If the sun rises
this time
then I'll be fine.
And from this slumber,
I'm just praying that I will wake.
I'ts all or nothing on the new day.

And from this slumber,
I'm just praying that I will wake.

You can 'wake up' my friend! You just need to realize that you can only live your life once and being depressed isn't the way to go on every day. I've been there many times and I have always leaned on my friends for support. This is a very bitter poem.

Back in the 70's I would get depressed, my wife ran off with another man. I decided I'd had enough. I keep myself positive and busy. I know it's easier said than done, but over time I licked it. You can to.
There's a lot of pain in your write...

My friend..each new day is
a battle. But one we can WIN.
I also suffer from depression.
I understand your feelings. I
KNOW what you are going thru.
HANG ON when you think you can't
hold on any longer. Grasp for
that last strand of rope handed
out to you. I want to help.

Huggs,
~~Linda~~
