CARRIED MY HORSE TO CHINA

I've carried my horse to China
saddled with mounting debts
far from the grasslands
far from the Steppes.

As usual you express much very succinctly, Kenny. I hope that trip to China was memorable in a good way. Love and peace,

A good scrub brush, a bottle of Irish whiskey and a cast-iron bathtub beckons...I know how you like your baths...your carved horse, I'm wondering if the wood is teak. I wrote about a German town wood carver carving carousel ponies. He had a real shetland he fed apples for the fruits of his labor, and nickered with the pony to get facial expressions to carve into the carousel ponies. Good luck continuing on your journey, Kenny, your horse is a good companion, reminds you of where you've been and where you are going...Blessed Be...

I agree that not many could make these claims...made for great poetry though. An enjoyable read.

Apparently world-weary humor and the company of a good horse will do wonders for a poet's pen. Splendid and highly-enjoyable write.

Not even Gengis Khan quite did that. I think the scots scared him off.

I am wondering if "horse" is a metaphor or if you are really stating that you took your beast of burden with you when you went to China? Either way, this is an entertaining poem.
Take care,
Sherry

Kenny, while reading this, I was humming that old cowboy tune, back in the saddle again. Bet that horse got heavy;-) It was an interesting journey. Thanks for sharing!

You are on some awesome adventure. Your riches are grounded in your postive attitude of just.... doing it.
Keep it coming Kenny.
