a lobster among lobsters,
newts, frogs and toads,
all the amphibians;

She's telling them about a lobster- walking Frenchman,
Gerard de Nerval, who paraded his crustacean
on a blue silk lead
along the Palais Royal gardens in Paris.

I like this! Great title and a feeling of colourful rebellion to the poem, like that lobster walking poet's attitude to the bourgeois French - the lobster is not so important, but the colour red is - enjoyed, Nicky x
Pictorial eloquence...depends on whatever color of dye pot ya put the pincher in! Blue Silk Lobster is a menagerie and I would imagine silkscreened on a red kimono would open a Scotsman's amphibious habitat to take a stroll in an Iranian Hat, clad in frog, newts, and toads boxers, with a guitar strapped on, singin' Puff the Magic Dragon...Kenny, you're the best...

I've never eaten lobster. To put them in a boiling pot of water when they're still alive seems to be the preferred method of cooking.
