Throw down the dagger, fight for your life Right now you have lack of vision unable to see a hand before your face all because of a deadly stagger. Look in the calm waters at the reflection of you in the water below See who I see. See what you can be. Some will love us, Some will leave even in the hardest times, for they do not have the strength to fight. They do not utter a sound. Look in the calm waters at the reflection of you in the pool of tears below. See who I can see See what you can be. If you’ve loved and lost in your heart You’ve been given a genuine gift. The fact you loved and felt the pain proves it was true love from the start. Look at the calm waters by Marlene Dawn marlene dawn They can reflect your life. It’s the way it can be. Beautiful words. So rightfully sad. I loved every verse but that 5th stanza---just is SO ---I just think it cries all by itself the words are so...so, so.. perfect. Love indeed is living life :) We live, we learn. I enjoyed the form and the way it read. Excellent work!

Excellent piece Marlene! It reminds me of the fight for my life back from 1989-2002. I am healthy now where it concerns my brain but am now back in the fight for my life concerning my genetic disease which I have had since childhood it turns out, so fight for life has never really gone away after all, even though Mom likes to think it has!

It is an Excellent write though Marlene! Brilliant!
