Running

Got too close to the fire

And the flame burned too hot

Now you’re out there in the night

Lookin’ for another shot

You’re back on the run baby

Back on the run.

Like the glint of a pistol

Shining in the sun

Fear filled your heart

And you were back on the run

While fog filled your head

Back on the run, baby

Who’s gonna save you

When you warm up to the heat?

When the cross around your neck

Brings you to the brink of defeat

Because you’re back on the run

Don’t turn around – just run!

You have me peeping through webs and corners Dayvid
I place my wooden nickle given by a stranger
at the tavern wheel...I'll take a double shot
of rattle snake and not waste the venom...
on the run..."Running" moves me where smoked filed bars,
juke boxes w/45's and bar stools overlooking
pool tables offered comfort for all
the lonely hearts learning about that bottle & packing iron
