In random parts of two tandem hearts we started out just giving,
But now, no way or how you try, you die inside to keep on living.
Please, show me your caring locked up in freedom,
Open your eyes simply to cry so I'll see them.
Oh, they fall to fast.

I came to learn those smiling features,
And how the student becomes the teacher.
Why didn't we find out before?
Now you're slipping away, and I'm asking for more.

Tell me you're wrong,
Tell me I'm right.
Tell me you long to see the light.
Tell me the rain falls, and stains all,
Your sadness trapped inside.

Tell me you're there,
Ask if I'll wait.
Cry me a tear 'cause it's too late.
Show me your day dreams that may seem
to me that life's alright.

When will you wake to find I take to mind the signs you will not show,
For the fastest road is through the blackest cold, walking in you and what you think you know.
Give up the courage to gain what you're missing,
Speak of the soft spots and know that I'm listening.
Yeah, I can make it last.

And this sea of faces clouds my wisdom
Fall to pick up a heartbeat, where is this from?
One day I might find the truth,
For now I need lies to start it of smooth.

Tell me I'm wrong,
Tell me you're right
Tell me this song even lost sight.
Of love's true state, say it's been great,
But for now, I'll just move on.
