We all talk of paths like we know who's speaking,
Walk down with me. I'm sorry these halls are reeking
Of tears but it's been years since I walked
This way. Honestly, you are the first I've talked
To today. Except for the one with the girls,
He came by and gave everyone pearls
Of white, but mine have faded since then.
I've kept them on since I was ten, when
That boy came around with all of his
Girls, well all I wanted was a…
He did give me the necklace, but we were just kids.
I feel we must hurry, the moon forbids
Talk of such sentiments lining this hall,
I’m just trying to answer that call.
Was it something I said, you look confused,
It's been a while since I've felt that used.
It hurts good, in that scorching sort of way,

I saw him again today,
He let me breathe in, feel the air around me,
I began to see the void surround me
Down here in these halls it gets dark as night
And he walked off toward the first humming street light
As it dimmed to denote his presence.

You see the act of one enthralls the essence
Of us all. Like peasants to coin we lunge for laughable meaning.
What little laws in tatters really matter, Athena herself is leaning
With age. The cage of these halls remind me of a time when right and wrong
Was clear enough for me to write down sounds long
Enough to hear them running from the truth.

I wait for him, compelled to sell myself toward the stunning soothe-
Sayer swaying reason for his own gain.
I learned one day that each footstep was in vain,
And as the surest poison stains my hair gray I blink
Long enough to taste reality. You think
Soft enough to float above the flash of the siren calling you together,
Permitting you to fall apart. Forever
You trudge through tidal thoughts and islands
Of matter bring you to dock. Hands
Locked up in freedom but you still post things up on alleyways,
As I stared through the mirror horror struck beyond these days.
In what ways was it possible that that face was not my face,

What snapped me out was the firm grip on my shoulder that made my heart race.
I spun around and without a sound I screamed for the what dare I see,
But my own face staring right back at me.
Once again to the mirror I gaze wasting time for my face has fled
And what was left was that boy, and all he said
Was that pure minds erupt in moonlight as yours is mine and yes,

Tonight we coalesce to learn just a little less.
And he rose up higher to feel my face as he returned
To the place I loathed, but the place I learned
Was true enough for me. Finally I have no doubt
As dusk finally frees the lust for life, listen long enough for me to breathe out.
