If I was a falcon,

Flying through the lands,

You would be earthbound,

Wishing I was a man.

 

If I had treasures stacked high,

From the ceiling to floor,

You would be covered in diamonds,

Demanding a carat more.

 

And if I was a soldier,

Searing flesh and bone,

You'd lie there with that wicked smirk,

As if I was all alone.

 

So if I were to run away,

Toward the warmth and light,

You'd still stop me in my tracks,

Frostbitten from your night.

 

With tact in hand I'd be a man,

An idea so free, an ideal so grand.

But still I stay but three feet tall,

For permission I need to stand, more yet to fall.

 

If I was but myself,

Just a lonely guy like me,

Would you see it in my eyes,

For truly who would i be?
