Carving from flesh that used to be her face.
Screaming words of love that was never shown.
Staring at the mirror into the eyes of someone she hates.
Ghostly reflections of a life she used to own.
She says she's getting close.
There's no turning back now.
Her breath is getting shallow in her throat.
She's going to die here, and she knows.
In silence she lays.
The only way she would have peace and restitution.
This is her way.
This is her final solution.

a painful piece to read, very, very thought-provoking and so 'felt'...each time I read, it still carries such a painful weight.
'Ghostly reflections of a life she used to own', God, this is frighteningly real and courageous in it's no holds barred, cut to the core, feel...and god, it has me just shaken. Bravo, Mariah..this went inside me and...just, well, the pain ...felt!

I think this is some phenomonal thought absolutely brilliant imagery and ideas. However it seems a bit conspired in its literary flow as if you thought about it too much. I would suggest you read your poem several times perhaps when you feel passionately about something, close your eyes and type exactly what your poem says again and then steal the killer lines from this draf such as parts of the last paragraph, the line about shallow breath and its following line and the last two lines of the first paragraph. Good write.
