I picture a long meditative stare at the evaporation of "rain drops. . ." Nice and peaceful poem to be in.

Happy Belated Birthday, Gene. I like rust. Speaks of history, substance and wisdom born of pain. Heck of a trade-off tho, lol! If you look closely the raindrops don't disappear--they fill each square in the mesh and show a prism of colors before evaporating into air. And then they become clouds. Joy to you...Lin

lol...ironic laughter inserted**
how often i sit and watch, like this morning, the raindrops slickery slide down a pane, so reticent in their chaos.... so loud in their quiet orchestration of life's drowning presence. .. .
i never think of them disappearing. only chasing a rainbow to no end.
beautifully un.captured...... again.
and so metaphoric.
the silence. the sudden realization of every.thing coming around and through and into again.
people dun end. i dun think so.
they are those ever.types so beautiful.
so loved.
this is all encompassing in so few words.
i want this.
beauty.

Happy birthday Gene. The poem says volumes in its simplicity. Many a drop has fallen on that old screen, crafting its own plan upon it. Big birthday hug, J'nia

time accumulated on the human body, "a rusty window screen" - and marking the passage of time, "raindrops disappear, one, by one" -- a tremendously unique perspective, a wonderful analogy for our birthdays -- sweet is the music your lines make Gene -- creative work of the first order -- you captured my imagination and attention, as I am a child of May soon to celebrate a birthday -- Taurean devil that I am -- peace and love-- Jon Michael

Gene,
This has the throb and beat of heart, the passing of time, the "rusty" days of advanced experience and of feeling.

Dissipation emotively aged through the beads of nature's abacus reflecting all that we've seen through life's window panes of births. A mixture of Scotch and Coca-Cola will paint the rust off, Gene...Cheers!

Gene: I love the spareness in this, and the theme. guess what? if you re-arranged it and added 2 syllables, you'd have a totally perfect haiku!
